About GERFAM

Created on December 14, 2012 by Prof. Dr. Aníbal Coutinho do Rêgo, who currently teaches at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). The Study Group on Ruminants and Forage Farming in the Amazon contributes to the training of undergraduates, masters and doctors in the Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics courses at UFRA. And it currently has the following teachers: Prof. Cristian Faturi, Prof. Lais Costa Brito, Prof. Thiago Carvalho da Silva, and Zootechnician Jorge Cardoso de Azevedo, who coordinate activities within the scope of forage conservation; Management and production of forage plants; Ruminant nutrition.

GERFAM participates in the III Symposium on Conservation and Use of Forages in Tropical Climate - SICONFOR





On November 7th and 8th, 2024, the III Symposium on Conservation and Use of Forages in Tropical Climate (SICONFOR) took place in Belém/PA. The symposium is held annually with the aim of sharing research ideas and practical applications in the field of forage quality and conservation. Renowned researchers in the field of forage conservation participated in the event to showcase the latest innovations in the area. GERFAM presented several abstracts at this event, sharing part of the work carried out by the group within the scope of forage conservation.
GERFAM participates in the VI International Symposium on Forage Quality and Conservation in Piracicaba-SP
On November 7th and 8th, the 6th International Symposium on Forage Quality and Conservation (ISFQC) took place in Piracicaba-SP. The symposium takes place every two years with the aim of sharing research ideas and practical applications in the area of forage quality and conservation, especially silage. Researchers in the area of forage conservation from all over the world participate in the event with the aim of disseminating the most innovative research and exchanging experiences with what is done here in Brazil.
