UFRA undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows linked to professors who are part of the group may join the team.

Undergraduate students must go through a selection process to join the group. The selection process will be composed of a committee of professors and/or members of the group. Before becoming full members, the selected students go through an internship period and are thus trained. After this period, the group members decide whether or not they will become full members.

Other teachers may freely participate and contribute to the group, in any area or environment in which the group operates.

Infrastructure

GERFAM carries out its work and activities in facilities that mainly belong to the Institute of Animal Health and Production of the Federal Rural University of the Amazon, Belém Campus, such as:

- Animal Nutrition Laboratory located in the Department of Animal Science - LABNUTAN;

- Feed Factory;

- Unit for Metabolic Studies in Small Ruminants - UEMPR;

- Areas for pasture implementation;

- Pará Sheep and Goat Research Center (CPCOP);

- Igarapé-Açu School Farm (FEIGA);

- Other production sectors.

Grants

GERFAM coordinators and collaborators are responsible for submitting notices and managing grant quotas for undergraduate students with funding agencies and the university. A selection process is held annually among group members to distribute grants among the group's undergraduate students.

Partnerships

The group seeks to establish partnerships with public or private education, research and extension institutions and entities, as well as funding agencies.

Example: UFPA, EMBRAPA Oriental, FAPESPA, CAPES, CNPq, Agroindustries, etc.

Projects

All group projects are previously forwarded to the Institute of Animal Health and Production (ISPA), which in turn forwards them to the Pro-Rector's Office to which the project is related, so that it can be registered, be it research (PROPED), education (PROEN) or extension (PROEX). It is worth remembering that projects involving the use of animals are submitted for assessment by the Ethics and Animal Use Committee (CEUA) of UFRA.
