VII Field Day on Ruminant Production
August 24, 2019
GERFAM and CPCOP, with support from Emevep Jr, Megaa and GENAFOP, organized another Field Day on Ruminant Production. The event, which is already part of the calendar of the main extension actions in the region, was held at the Igarapé-Açu School Farm on August 24 (Saturday), 2019, at 9:00 am. The Field Day had the tradition you already know, with four knowledge stations, which addressed: use of cassava as forage, use of corrective in pasture formation, pasture management and reproduction of small ruminants. This year, the use of cassava was a new feature of our event. In the section that addressed this topic, participants were able to access information on the conservation of cassava through silage production, cassava as forage, and the main obstacles to planting this crop in the Northeast region of Pará. On the other hand, in the section that addressed the use of soil correctives, participants were able to see the main precautions that producers should take when correcting the soil on their property.
