Testimonial: Before graduating, I had the privilege of being part of this magnificent group (GERFAM), where I gained wonderful experiences. Like most students nearing graduation, I was a bit nervous about the next steps in my professional life. However, through GERFAM, I was able to enhance and put into practice the knowledge I had acquired during my course.
Numerous activities were carried out in the group, such as setting up experiments, assisting with the research work of master's and doctoral students, conducting laboratory analyses, organizing events (Lecture Series), attending weekly meetings, presenting research work, and exchanging information within the group. All of these experiences provided me with a wealth of knowledge and deepened my passion for research.
After leaving GERFAM, I had the opportunity to spend time in Viçosa-MG, conducting soil and plant material analyses for Embrapa. This opportunity opened doors to others, and I am now a master's student in the Soil and Plant Nutrition graduate program at UFV, focusing on the research line of Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition.
I am deeply grateful to everyone in the group for the excellent camaraderie, the knowledge I gained, and to Professor/Coordinator Aníbal Coutinho for his outstanding work and professionalism, as well as all collaborators. I wish success to all of us. Build your career, seize opportunities, and pursue everything with excellence. The result will be the realization of your dreams.

Participation in GERFAM: 2013–2014
Career: Veterinary Doctor graduated from UFRA. Currently, she is a master's student in Animal Health and Production at UFPA.
Testimonial: GERFAM is a group that has always been well-organized, with the involvement of all its members, supporting the professional future of everyone on the team, whether in research, teaching, or extension activities. GERFAM was my first internship; I joined during the first selection process, developed my first experiment as a PIBIC scholarship recipient, and learned far more than I had imagined.
Without a doubt, it contributed significantly to my professional and personal growth, serving as an excellent training opportunity to work directly with animal production. I am deeply grateful to the group, especially to the friends I made and to my mentor, Prof. Dr. Aníbal Coutinho do Rêgo.

Testimonial: First, I would like to congratulate GERFAM on the initiative of creating a space for us alumni to share our testimonials about the experience of being part of this group. Speaking of my experience, it was something new in my academic career, as I graduated in Agronomy at UFRA. However, when I joined the PPGSPAA and soon became part of GERFAM under the guidance of Prof. Cristian Faturi, I received an excellent welcome from the group members, which gave me the honor of completing my master's degree with GERFAM's support.
Through this experience, I had the opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities, not only related to animal science but also involving interdisciplinary knowledge. This included research (through TCC, master's, and doctoral experiments), teaching (with the opportunity to carry out my teaching internship by delivering supervised lectures to Animal Science and Veterinary students), and extension activities (such as field days, lecture series, and workshops).
These activities allowed group members to acquire a wealth of experiences and knowledge spanning various fields of agricultural sciences, not limited to animal science as I initially thought. This holistic training, supported by the guidance of GERFAM's coordinators, should undoubtedly serve as a model for other programs at UFRA. It ensures that its members leave the university much better prepared to face the job market beyond academia.
Thus, the group provided me with the opportunity to grow professionally, as a future researcher and educator, but also as a human being, thanks to the friendships I built with the coordinators and, above all, the excellent colleagues I met during my time in the group—many of whom remain cherished friends to this day.
In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to GERFAM for the opportunity to enrich my knowledge.

Testimonial: I am Kely Cordovil, and I graduated in Animal Science a little over 2 years ago. I am grateful for many things in my personal and professional life, and I am proud to say that much of my satisfaction is due to GERFAM. Through the group, I had the chance to participate in incredible projects and had the opportunity to gain experience on a rural property, where I completed my ESO. I also carried out my TCC through the group and earned my degree in Animal Science.
Today, I am a master's student in the Biosciences graduate program at the Federal University of Western Pará (UFOPA). I was a state employee at Adepará (State Agency for Agricultural Defense of Pará) right after graduating, where I worked for 2 years and 3 months.
That being said, I can only thank GERFAM and the professors/advisors and colleagues in the group. #grateful

Testimonial: My name is Vitor Araújo, a Veterinary Doctor, and I was a member of GERFAM as well as a scientific initiation scholarship holder with the group for one year (2014–2015). I must admit that, at first, I had slight apprehensions about how the group would accept me—after all, what is a veterinary student doing in a forage science study group? However, I felt very welcomed and included.
During my time there, I had the opportunity to participate in various activities, such as weekly and planning meetings, scientific experiments (including my own), group studies of articles in English, event organization (such as field days and lecture series), and trips for practical work. Through these experiences, I came to understand the broad range of knowledge within agricultural sciences and how veterinary medicine is an integral part of it all!
In the end, I am immensely grateful for all the experiences I had during this time, for the opportunity to be a PIBIC scholarship recipient, and for the great friends I made in the group.
Thank you, GERFAM!

Testimonial: My name is Marcus Cardoso, an Animal Scientist, and I had the immense pleasure of being part of GERFAM throughout my entire undergraduate course. I joined the group during its first selection of trainees, when it was created in 2012, and stayed with the group until the end of my graduation.
I had the opportunity to participate in several projects involving the practical aspects of the course and also served as a monitor for two years. Thanks to the group and the coordinators, I found what I enjoy most: studying Forage Science. I had the chance to do an internship in the field, applying the practical knowledge gained from conducting experiments to real-life field situations, which is extremely rewarding for someone about to graduate, in addition to completing my TCC.
Being part of the group was very satisfying as it opened many doors for me and provided numerous resources to continue on my path even after graduation, leading me to pursue a postgraduate degree. Seeing the group grow each year is incredibly gratifying for me, as I am from the first generation of trainees, when, at the time of its creation, there were almost no resources to carry out our activities.
Today, I hold the group in great affection, considering it my second family, along with my second home, which is UFRA, through each friendship I made and every mentor who always sought and continues to give their best for their students, just as they did for me.
I wish for the group to continue growing strongly and to be increasingly recognized. My sincerest thanks!

Testimonial: My name is Amanda Queiroz, I joined GERFAM as a trainee in 2016 and remained until February 2020 as a graduate student. I decided to apply for the group during the Forage Science II course in Animal Science, where I was certain that I wanted to pursue research in the area of forage conservation.
We usually enter university quite young; I was 18 when I started, and our personality is shaped throughout the course. At university, we acquire not only professional knowledge but also learn how to handle life. These lessons were greatly enhanced when I joined the study group.
In the group, we are guided by the mentors to always extract our maximum potential, which made me more dedicated and committed to the course and internship, qualities I lacked at the beginning of my degree. Through the internship and participating in experiments, I realized how much I identified with research, and that’s why I joined the master's program.
Currently, I am preparing for future doctoral selection processes and continue to collaborate with the group. I am grateful to the group for the opportunities and friendships I gained, thank you so much!!

Testimonial: My name is Bianca Rafaela Silva, I am an Animal Scientist and hold a Master's in Animal Science, and currently, I am a field technician for the Technical and Managerial Assistance Program of Senar - ATeG Leite in Rondônia. I started with this brief professional introduction because it is the result of much effort and dedication, but also the collaboration of professionals who have been and continue to be references for me since my undergraduate years.
I joined GERFAM in 2013, still in the early stages of my fourth semester in Animal Science. I was a scholarship holder for extension activities, mainly involved in organizing scientific events within the university. Shortly after, I became a scholarship holder for scientific initiation until the end of my degree, which expanded my knowledge and also encouraged me to pursue a master's degree.
Today, I can apply much of the knowledge I gained during my time in this group, and I am grateful for the encouragement, support, and everything I had the opportunity to learn. I hope that more students can continue receiving the same encouragement and support from the group.
Hugs!

Career: Animal Scientist graduated from UFRA, Doctor in Animal Science from UFPA. Currently, he is a Substitute Professor of Animal Science at UFPA, Cametá.
Contact: amqcunha@gmail.com
Testimonial: I joined GERFAM in March 2014, and I was one of the first graduate students to become part of the group. Over the past six years, being part of this family has been essential in my development as a professional and as a person. While in GERFAM, I had the opportunity to develop various research projects, including my Master's project, which required me to step out of my comfort zone and learn to deal with the differences of the colleagues who were present throughout the two years of my master's program and living at FEIGA.
In the last two years of my Doctorate, I had the opportunity to develop projects and live in the birthplace of Boi 777, a national reference in beef cattle research, under the co-supervision of researchers Flávio Dutra de Resende, Gustavo Rezende Siqueira, and Ivanna Moraes de Oliveira, who created the Boi 777 concept.
Thanks to GERFAM, I gained skills, knowledge, and techniques to become the best professional possible in the field of animal production. Being part of the group, I developed a passion for delivering training, lectures, courses, and classes alongside my mentors. This led me to find my place in the field of Animal Science, where I am currently a substitute professor.
My sincere thanks to GERFAM and Professor Aníbal, who welcomed me over the past six years. I hope the group continues to strengthen and grow, providing opportunities and knowledge to all who need it.
