Since February 2016, one of the GERFAM members, Zootecnist Vitor Hugo Maues Macedo, a master's student in the Animal Science Graduate Program at UFPA, under the guidance of Prof. Aníbal Coutinho do Rêgo, has been conducting an exchange program during his master's course until July 2016. Under the support and supervision of Prof. Ricardo Andrade Reis from UNESP, the student has been developing activities at the Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, UNESP Jaboticabal Campus. The student follows activities in the foraging and ruminant production sector of UNESP, related to experiments that evaluate different levels of DDG inclusion as a substitute for cottonseed meal in cattle supplementation, with performance and metabolic study assessments. He also follows experiments with different nitrogen fertilization levels in pasture areas and takes courses offered by the Postgraduate Program in Animal Science.

The PROCAD UFPA/UNESP/UFGD has provided an opportunity for the exchange of experiences between research groups and strengthened the academic training of the students participating in this action. With the experience gained during these six months of exchange, Vitor Hugo Macedo plans to defend his master's thesis still in 2016 and intends to enroll in the doctoral program in 2017, pursuing an academic career.
