Institution: Federal Rural University of the Amazon
About the Project: The North region, which today holds around 20% of the national cattle herd, has the State of Pará as its main producer, responsible for 42.46% of the regional herd (18.6 million heads). Despite this, in this region, the insertion of new practices and technologies has not grown as much as herds, especially in the production methods of small and medium-sized producers, as erroneous pasture management habits like those practiced in the past still frequently occur. The project aims to serve 25 (small and medium) producers of cattle, sheep and goats in the Northeast region of Pará, whose production situation and productive performance of pastures present indicators of inadequate management, requiring technical-educational and informational assistance. And present to these producers, through undergraduate students and teachers, knowledge and practices of pasture management and with an assistance nature, placing the Federal Rural University of the Amazon at the service of the producer, aiming to improve their skills with the use of land and other resources. In view of this, a survey will be carried out of properties with a work profile that fits with the target audience referred to in this project, that is, those producers who work with pasture animal production, so that a diagnosis can be generated with the structural profile of the problems existing on the properties, as well as the productive potential they have, so that data can be collected on the farms and the necessary recommendations can be made from this.
